I'm happy to hear that Earl is gone, but it is hard to count them down and out. Bonnie was declared dead as well, and she managed to come back to life and strike Florida. But one can only hope that Earl will RIP.

I just read that news report too, Nikki and am definitely breathing a huge sigh of relief. :) However, this is the latest sat picture...and it sure doesn't look like it's fallen apart just yet:

The chances of it regenerating over the warmer Caribbean waters is quite good, but the deterioration of the storm is good in that it will have to reform and intensify, and have less time to do so and become a huge storm before it makes landfall. At least that's what I've read and what I hope to be true. The current track was taking it more west than north, so I hope, for the sake of those living in C. America and the Yucatan, that if it does regenerate, it is weak.
That said, I think that now we at least can be placated that our flights will be spared hurricane delays...

Oh Ruth, did I ever have a good laugh when I read your post!! All I can say is be weary of Earl -- he won't give up so easily!!!!!
By the way, we have been kidding "MY" Earl ever since they announced #5 for this year and told him hurricane "Earl" had better not get as far as New England or he will never hear the end of it.

Happy to hear Earl has fallen apart. Let's hope we do not hear any more about any severe weather from him.
Liz......I imagine you are having a bit of fun teasing "your" Earl. I know I'd have some fun teasing my DH and calling him a "windbag". :)

Looks like he's pretty much falling apart on satellite! Smooth seas and dry blue skies next week, coming right up!!! (fingers crossed)
