When we were on the Pacific Sun in 2005 we purchased a couple of nice Sun lanyard, but this time I have been shopping and found that you can buy lanyards for as little as $2.00 or as much as $17 dollars. You know I recon that $17 is a bit rich for a lanyard, but as it happens I bought a bilabong one for $16.

I have to say I think it is a good idea to bring your favorate lanyard with you for your crusie card. you can find one that suits your style and can maybe go with your clothes, I found that one with a detachable section is handy. lets face it we all have cruise card and many people use lanyards to hang them on, so lets talk about it.

I didn't take one. I bought an old Pacific Sky lanyard for 50c!! :p Apparently they ran out of stock, and the shop literally had just opened.
Well it did the job, so for 50c it wasn't badly priced.;)

yeah Icy, My wife is the same she plans to buy a Pacific Dawn one on board the boat, how much are they? I found the colour rang in the P&O lanyards are a bit limiting and they dont go with all your clothes. I like the bilabong one because it is black grey and white and the bottom part clips of and becomes like a key ring, great for formals. the boys can pop the crusie card in their top pocket and it does not spoil the look of the outfit. I know it sound a bit padantic but surely I not the only person who has a problem with the P&O lanyards.

Trying to be a cheapskate I bought some from a dollar shop in Sydney, great i thought! until I bought my first drink:mad: The dog clips on some lanyards are not big enough for the cruise card to be scanned when the room card is also attatched,so every time my card was scanned it came back twisted on the clip and I was forever puting them streight or they would stick out an not hang flat when I put it back over my head.It annoyed me that much that this time I will buy the P&O lanyards and blow the expence;)

Den.

I think my dawn one was about $7.50 which i didnt think was too bad and they are quite good quality. If they break u can take them back and they will relpace it for u

I just ordered a CC lanyard today. (Did you know you get 20% off, as a birthday gift? Neat!) Figured I might as well advertise this great site and find fellow CCer's at the same time:) Looking forward to getting it.

Yeah I planned to do that as well, I saw the CC shop details on the CC site, and called up via skype to make a credit card purchase. the problem was it was a home business and I called at one in the morning US time. the lady was some what suprised and told me the shop was not open and to call back at a better time, eg, during business hours. so i was to EMBARRASSED I could not bring myself to make contact again , so no CC lanyard this crusie. I learned my lesson and now always check the international time before calling on skype.com

Me too Icy. And yesn they're around $7. And personally, I don't think lanyards go with any clothes so it doesn't matter what colour they are. I didn't wear around my neck at night time when i was dressed up, just stuck it in my camera bag.

I got one of these too :D I got the whole pack with the lanyard, bum bag, magnet & luggage tags :D

I bought an old Pacific Sky lanyard for 50c!!

Last time we went on the Sky we were told they sold out straight away and the best they could offer us was some blue curling ribbon to hang our cards off!!! I was SO disappointed I didn't get another Sky one. As soon as we hit Vila we bought some Nike ones at Fung Kweis :) I can't believe they still have Sky ones when there wasn't one to spare in Sept 2005!

I like this style too, so you just unclip your card rather than having to take the whole thing off and on every time you buy something.

Well that goes to show how much I know about lanyards. I thought they all had a detachable section:rolleyes: . All the ones I've ever seen have. (Not that I spend a lot of time looking at lanyards;) )

It is hard to expain how the detachable ones look, so I thought I would post a photo of one. Its not as if I am a lanyard fanatic, although after reading my post you could come to that conclusion.

see the photo below. that little black thing is where it detaches, and makes it like a key ring. works well.

One thing about the P & O lanyards that they could improve is the length. Would be good to be just a little bit longer so I don't have to bend down to put the key card in the slot to enter our room!!

Ah, glad you mentioned it. the bilabong one is longer and has the detachable bit at the bottom. that exactly the point Ive been trying to make. Not that you should buy a bilabong lanyard but that you should take the one that suits you.

oh, that must be a new thing, our ones from the Sun in 2005 were very basic they only had that little black clip thing you see on the key ring not the swivel conection with the waves as on the one in the photo. good to see that things are improving, my wife will be glad to hear that.

They're not exactly like the ons in thepic but they are detachable. Our Sun ones from Apr '06 were too.
