i went on a cruise last year the same date for 10 days and took board shorts i went to look for them to day i only have 4. i dont know where the rest have gone I think i am missin a few black pairs my room is clean but its a 7 day cruise how many pairs would u take i will swim ocoionaly in the pools do u think i should buy some more"?

We were on the Pacific Dawn in November and I got away with only 3 pair although I didn't spend that much time in the pool. Probably easy to rinse overnight and dry in the shower area. So i would have thought 4 would be OK.

I got away with taking one pair on my last 7 night cruise. Swam in the pools on board maybe twice and then used them when we were at Arlie beach at the lagoon there.

Just did as Don said, rinsed them in the shower and hung them up to dry on the little clothes line in the bathroom. Could blast them with the hair dryer thing as well if you need them in a hurry :rolleyes:

I wouldn't - they dry quickly and you can wear them on alternate days - no one will know! It's kind of like toggs - I'm only taking 2 or 3 pairs for a 7 day cruise. Your on holidays - who cares what you wear as long as it covers the important bits!

I am taking 3 pair for a 13 night crusie, and I thought I was being excessive. I agree with Don, my thinking is because the pool has chorine and the sea has salt, it is important to rinse them after each use. just hang them up in the bath room and they will be dry by morning.

How many pairs of board shorts did you take Jen? My kids only took 3 - 4 pairs each. Washed them through each night and also did proper washing most days. It seemed to be plenty.

we are taking the inlaws with us on this cruise, I suggested that my Mother IL will need clothes for each day for swimming, for casual, and for evening. she asked me if If I knew how to pack light. My response was why did I need to because I had a BIG suit case and would enjoy looking nice. as for dressing up for the theme nights, well that is out of the question for her. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

When I said shorts, I was talking about swiming shorts, I will also be packing three pair of shorts, a pair of jeans a couple of pair of nice evening trousers, a couple of suits a pile of shirts 10 undies a couple of pairs of shoes and some sandles and the list goes on. just thought I would clarify my previous coments. :)
