Can anyone tell me in detail about this. Can't really find much about it. Is it offered everyday? Do you need to reserve or book this ahead of time, or just show up? Does it ever over book?

Thanks, this will be our first HAL cruise and the Tea is one of the things that sold us on HAL.

You do not have to make reservations for HAL's afternoon tea - usually around 3:30 -- just show up. No cost!!

There is an afternoon tea everyday -- once during the cruise there will be a Royal Dutch Tea - specials pastries. And on some cruises - usually longer ones - an Indonesian tea.

Enjoy!!

We just got off the Noordam last week, so this info should be pretty current.

The ship has afternoon tea every sea day, and sometimes on days when the ship will depart in late afternoon and most people are back onboard.

They have a variety of brands (from Lipton to Twining's-our favorite) and a variety of flavors (green, regular, mint, etc.).

You do need to read the daily plan because the location varies between dining room and Explorer's Lounge.

You can also get pastries and finger food.

The stewards serve you at the table.

No reservations needed - just show up at the announced time (usually 3:15 PM).

Hope this helps.

That sounds great, I can't wait!! Question do you know what type of sweetner they have on board? DH and I are fans of Equal and I was wondering if I should pack my own supply or if the ship will have it.

Cheers!

Yes, they have Equal. They have it all! :D There's white and brown sugar (yummy, but not for me :( ). There's also Sweet & Low (pink packets), Equal (blue packets), Splenda (yellow).
