The Search feature doesn't seem to be working -- Can someone tell me if I am able to book shore excursions while on board ship, or do I need to use the HAL web site for pre-booking?
Thanks.

You can book onboard ... unless it's a popular excursion with limited capacity that fills up before you get there. If there's something that you really want that is marked as limited capacity, it's best to pre-book.

Is your cruise 10 days from now?

No -- It's not until September (Eurodam 9-1), but the excursions are open on-line and I really want the kayaking in three ports. All have 1 departure. Would you go ahead and book now?

YES!!
those tours are very limited and may even be sold out when you get on the ship.
Hope you get them.

Once, I was able to book an excursion by calling HAL directly when the boards didn't work.

I just tried to book the kayaking excursions, and when I entered my booking number and name, I got a message that "Shore Excursion Space Requests are no longer being accepted for this sailing."
What do you think that means? Could everything be sold out already -- 8 months in advance?

Could everything be sold out already -- 8 months in advance?I doubt it. Keep trying periodically ... the HAL site does funny things sometimes.
I got that message once and panicked momentarily - only to realize that I had entered the booking number for a previous cruise ... check that! :D:D

I tried booking excursions today for our upcoming (March 2) cruise and was given the message about excursions no longer available for this cruise. I thought it was strange but wasn't too concerned since I was actually just checking on one possibility. I think it might be that the site was having trouble because when I was filling out our immigration forms, it was really having trouble and kept kicking me out.
My suggestion would be to try again.

Finally got through. Their web site was the problem. I'm happily booked for kayaking in September! Thanks all.
