This cabins shows to be 295 sq ft, significantly larger than the other VAs. Anyone know more about it?

Upon looking at the deck plans, V8046 appears to be the same size as all the rest of the cabins in that category. What source is telling you otherwise?

I called HAL and got several diffferent answers, including the introduction of a new category, "V". I then looked at the deckplan again and this one is officially a VB, not a V.

Finally got a Eurodam specialist and the official answer is that this cabin is 295 sq ft plus balcony. It is the only cabin so far on the Eurodam to have specifications loaded and is, of course, subject to change based on construction. The reps answer was "consider yourself lucky".

Cruzman, I found the info on HAL's TA website.

Sounds as if deck plans for this ship change daily. My cabin # SC 6171 is now 6175 according to the deck plans posted on HAL's website. Current deck plans still show 8046 as a cat V on Navigation Deck.

I am very skeptical of that 295 sq ft figure. V8046 looks to have a somewhat larger verandah than the VAs, but not enough to pick up 46 sq ft.

I am also skeptical even with HAL confirming the 295 as interior space. If it is indeed a new category of Verandah, it makes sense. If it turns out not to be true, I will likely upgrade to an SZ GTY.

I talked to HAL today and they are re numbering the cabins in the res. system this weekend as they do not match the 12/15/07 version deck plan or the one on the HAL website.

According to Hal several people will be moved because of the new numbering. I was looking at what I thought was an SB but res. had it as a VA.

So I'm waiting until Monday to book.

It looks like they are labeling the ones midship (originally VA's) on that deck "V". This way they can charge more for the location. Probably the same size as VE-V. The T's on the Observation deck (originally labeled as a outside stateroom) turned into "VT"s. On the panorama deck they have a new category (CA) for the 4 outside cabins all the way forward, and on the Panorama deck "IA" ocean view 10040 and 10039 must be an error per the diagram they are interiors.

Not on their TA site. When I pulled up available verandahs, this one was flagged as 295 SQ Ft and was priced higher than a VA.

Sounds like the only thing we know for sure at this point is that, as usual  , HAL's right hand (public website) is totally unaware of what its various left hands (marketing/head office/TA website) are doing - all of which varies from moment to moment anyway. I loved my first HAL cruise, and I'm looking forward eagerly to my next one in August, but while they run their ships wonderfully, their customer relations and back office operations (aka "Seattle") seem to be a mess. (E.g., chartering out published cruises and not bothering to tell booked passengers until they're good and ready - several weeks later:confused: .)

Even if I had the time and money, I think I'd pass on booking Eurodam until the dust settles, frankly. JMHO.
