Hi all,
Couple questions.
If you have recently found yourself in the Pinnacle Grill ordering either of the 2 following things, how was it?
- Sundried Tomato Steak Sauce
- Chocolate Volcano Cake
Here's the reason I ask:
In May I was on the Oosterdam and the Amsterdam and in the Pinnacle on both I had a phenominal meal. Everything was made, as I know it, properly.
Sundried Tomato Steak Sauce was more of a thick vinaigrette with pieces of sundried tomato, etc. Lots of flavor and a bit tangy.
Chocolate Volcano Cake was a chocolate flavored cake with a Grand Marnier infused whipped cream. The whipped cream really helped to balance out the VERY rich and decadent cake.
In September/October I was on the Oosterdam again, went to the Pinnacle. Got the exact thing I got in May (it was THAT good) and:
Sundried Tomato Sauce appears to have been put through a blender and emulsified. FLavors were much more mellow.
The orange flavor was in the chocolate cake and the whipped cream was plain and ordinary. It wasn't as good.
SO what I'm asking is:
If you've had these items, were they like what I had in May, or September/October? When did you cruise? What ship were you on?
I don't know if someone was just having an "off day" or if they've changed the recipes for both. As I'm going on the Westerdam in June I'd like to know if I ought to do the PG or not (I'm picky and have been set with what I like... It would be about the only way I enjoy dinner in there. And I don't mind the fee (obviously) so don't start that side topic. :)
Thanks for any help on what's probably a pretty trivial question!
