I don't know about getting tattoos in the Caribbean, but if it is possible, which I bet it is, I sure would think twice about lack of government health regulations, cleanliness standards, etc. :(

Have you thought about an Everglades airboat ride? Lots of fun.

Then your BF should be responsible to think of those things himself. ;)

The 1 year old will not enjoy the airboat ride as much as your BF and you. Consider that you will have to hold him during the entire ride.
Look into one of the boat rides where you cruise along the inter-water ways past lots of famous homes as well as past the large cruise ships in the harbor.

I wouldn't suggest your Bf to get a tattoo while on the cruise just because once it's done he won't be able to go swimming in pools or the ocean. Swimming is off limits after tattooing for 6 months. Of course bathing is a-ok!

Wow..is that really so? Why no swimming but bathing is okay?

Sweetpea......JMHO.......but I don't think a one year old baby belongs on an air boat in the Florida Everglades. I would expect a very unhappy baby in the heat, the noise, the speed......and what if it starts to pour torrential rain as it well can. Please think carefully before bringing such a little baby there.

Recommendation: Do the stern wheel boat ride on the Carrie B-book directly with them and save. There is seating inside or on the outer deck.
Recommendation Not: Do not do the Land and Sea Excursion. Horrible.

They have a super large flea market including a circus (free). You can get a tour of the waters on the Jungle Queen but it's a lot less to get a one day water taxi pass. When we have a late flight we get a rental car. The beach area is nice.

Are you referring to Swap Shop? It is huge and you definitely need a rental car to get there.

sail7seas- pools and large bodies of water are off limits due to the germs that can be spread from other people into your semi-open flesh. i know people put chlorine in pools to kill germs but it's still not enough. some people take longer to heal than others so the general rule is 6 months on the high side (2-3 months is generally enough time to be fully healed). any decent tattoo artist will warn you of this, not only for your safety but also to avoid any liability they might face if you get some kind of crazy infection in the tattoo site because of it.
showering is more personal and there is less of a chance for you to get something by simply showering (plus the area that was tattooed does need to be cleaned to avoid infection).

I'm not sure of the name of the flea market, but yes you do need a rental car to get there. It's on Sunrise. There is also the Sawgrass Outlet Mall on Sunrise.

Thank you for explaining. I should have realized why as I was told to not go swimming after recent surgery. I think it was three months....again, because of a healing wound.
