If it is Lamington Ave at ascot, it will only take a few minutes (if that) by taxi.
You shouldnt have to give him directions as he is bound to know where it is.
I dont think you will have any probs!!! :)

Hi Sarah,
My version of the directions.... although if you knew my sense of direction you would be very worried!!!
To look for yourself use your hotel's website (they have a map in the location section) and then also go to the Portside Website (they have a contact link and then you click on 'Portside Wharf' and it has a map).
Basically tell the driver to get onto Nudgee Road and follow it directly down to the wharf. You will see Lamington Avenue is just off Nudgee Road and then you just basically drive straight down that road, no need to turn (I think it changes name as you cross Kingsford Smith Drive, though).
The 'street' address for Portside is 39 Hercules Rd, HAMILTON.
Not sure if this helps at all, but the websites should make it clear - you'll see Nudgee Rd on both.

I think Lamington AVe is the road to the old Brisbane Airport and it runs along the train line. As said before, just turn left out of Lamington into Nudgee Road and follow it until you spot the big white ship in front of you. ;)

Your motel is only 1.5km to 2km from the cruise terminal. Gee, if you didn't have much luggage you could walk it!
Lamington Avenue runs of Nudgee Road. To reach the cruise terminal you would go to Nudgee Road, turn left, cross the railway line and continue to the traffic lights at Kingsford Smith Drive. Cross Kingsford Smith Drive into Remora Road and continue south for less than a half a km and you are there.:)

You won't have any trouble with directions - just tell the driver you want Portside Wharf and he'll find it.
As as been said, if you don't have much luggage you could even walk there, not too far at all.
