I am booked on the HAL Westerdam for Nov. 30 - Dec. 14 It is a B2B. I booked a inside cabin. Are the chances good for an upgrade. Has anyone ever booked an inside on HAL and Got oceanview or better? Just wondering.;)

We booked an inside guar last year for our Alaskan cruise and ended up with an obstructed view outside. It was great! Good luck!

On two separate cruises on HAL I booked an inside guarantee and ended up with an ocean view on one and an obstructed ocean view on another. While there's no guarantee that this will be the case, I've been very happy with all of my guarantees and would gladly do one again.

How do these 'upgrades' happen? I am a newbie cruiser...and enquiring minds would like to know. Is this a decision that you make or a decision by the cruiseline because of empty cabins. What would it cost?

On 3 separate cruises, when booking guarantee inside cabins, we were upgraded to unobstructed view cabins every time. :)

kk so we are booked on the rfamily cruise in march ....right now I have an inside family suite..(which is two large insides witha joining door)

I dunno how the upgrades work? Will they ask me if I want to upgrade or will I ask them?

does it cost any extra to do that? Y'all got me thinking about it now!!!LOL:o

I have done 13 cruises and never had a up grade yet, don't count on it.

Hope for the best; expect the worst. We've had both experiences with guarantees.

back-to-back cruises -- might have a good chance of an upgrade since you are doing 2 cruises instead of one.

But on the downside - you might even have less of a chance since you are booked on 2 cruises as the same cabin might not be available on both cruises.

Hope you make out.
