Hello all -
I am thinking of maybe taking this issue further but would appreciate some feedback from my fellow members!
I booked a sailing for April 25 - Journey on December 28/07. On January 2 I rec'd a flyer from Celebrity Captain's Club in the mail saying that I could take advantage of a $300.00 coupon per cabin for new bookings After January 1/08. After reading it, it appeared my sailing wasn't covered but someone on our Roll Call string who was paying real attention realized there was a typo and the Quest sailings and the Journey sailings were SWITCHED around!!!
I would have gladly cancelled and rebooked to get the extra $300.00 but when I asked my agent to check Azamara said it couldn't be used with any other promotions. Considering that there was a huge promotion put through on just those days, how in the world would anyone be able to take advantage of the coupon? I don't think that Azamara printed the typo on purpose but running a competitive promo on the days that this coupon was to be used seems rather redundant!
I have had my rate adjusted since booking - which was fine but I am wondering what is going on in the Marketing Department and beginning to feel a little "unhappy" about the pricing. I have had great service from Azamara from a couple of individuals and have written a laudatory letter to the Executive on their behalf as I like to give credit where credit is due - but I am not sure if I should do the same on this issue. I did personally receive a thank you note from the President Dan Hanrahan on my complimentary letter.
