I noticed on the deck plan that my room has a connecting door: would that create a noise problem from the adjacent room? Also, I am in a VD catagory Veranda stateroom about 1/2 way between midship and aft (the Oosterdam). Would this be an adequate room? I have emailed my travel agent about seeing if he can move me to a room with no connecting door, and one on a higher level, but maybe what I have is just fine. (I had a VF "guarantee" rate when I booked). Thanks.

DH and I had a VD on the fourth deck on the Oosterdam Jan 5 - 12. The cabin is a bit smaller than other balcony cabins that we've had but it was certainly adequate. We had a smooth cruise. We did not have an ajoining cabin on that cruise but we have been in cabins before that did have ajoining doors on the Ryndam and the Zaandam. There wasn't a great deal of noise heard but I guess it would just depend upon the guests in the cabin. If we have a choice we would book a non-ajoining room but it really didn't impact our cruise. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info! Any other info about the Oosterdam would be appreciated. VD balcony on upper promenade sounds fine. Will ask travel agent to see if we can be given a non-adjoining room. Appreciate your response. :)
