HAL leaving Port Canaveral?

My wife and out were looking to go on Zaandam out of Port Canaveral in the fall of 2005, but noticed that it has shifted ports. Worse yet, there is not another HAL ship scheduled to be in Port Canaveral after the Zaandam departs in Spring 2005 for the Alaska season. Is HAL done with Port Canaveral? Any information about the future of HAL in Port Canaveral would be appreciated.

HAL signed a 2 year contract to base a ship out of Port Canaveral. That contract is up at the end of the spring season when the Zaandam leaves for Alaska. Have no idea why HAL didn't renew the contract.

Thanks for the information. Kind of sad news since we recently moved into the Orlando area and were looking forward to being so close to a HAL port. Looks like either long drives to Fort Lauderdale or the Veendam for now.

Looks like either long drives to Fort Lauderdale or the Veendam for now.Same for us. Just moved to Orlando last year, was looking forward to a 45 minute drive to the terminal. Oh well, Ft Lauderdale is still close enough we don't need to fly.
Maybe another cruise line will grab that slip.:) I wonder if Carnival will stay.
Word is that Pt Canaveral is going to get a face-lift, too.

We too were looking for fall 2005 from Port Canaveral, a 45 minute drive from home. I guess the 2 years didn't prove to be profitable for HAL... :(

Radisson has free parking and a free shuttle. You don't have to book their cruise package rate to get the free parking. Parking is included in ALL room rates.
