Will we hear any noise above us on the Lido Deck if we book this cabin? Has anyone stayed in this cabin? Are SS cabins entitled to use of the Neptune lounge? Thanks in advance.

Haven't been in that exact cabin but we did recently stay in an aft VA cabin on the 8th deck and did not have a problem wih noise from the Lido. The only thing we could really hear was them moving the loungers to wash the deck (but that was early in the AM and we only heard it when we were already awake).

Are you concerned about noise late at night, early in the morning or during the day? You are under the pool area so there will be more "traffic" during the day. My daughter had a friend on the Oosterdam with a SS cabin in a similar location. They never mentioned noises.

To answer your other question, SS, SY & SZ CATs don't have Neptune Lounge privileges.

we were in this cabin--yes, we were awakened every day by the sound of chairs scraping overhead. It was also not possible to nap during the afternoon. If you are at all sensitive to noise I would avoid this cabin, or else use ear plugs. We no longer book the Navigation deck if only cabins in this area are available

And, no the SS/SY/SZ cabins do not have access to the Neptune Lounge. They do have access to a phone concierge.

I would not book these in the Caribbean due to noise (I am a light sleeper) but would for Alaska.

We just got off the Westerdam and were in room 8049. We had absolutely no problem with the noise. No problem sleeping.

We normally get a balcony room but this time, to same some money, tried an inside room. It was large and bright and we will do it again.

Thanks for everyone's advice on the noise level. We are pretty sound sleepers, but I will take ear plugs just in case. I noticed on a travel agency's web site that in 2007 the Westerdam was refurbished. Any info as to what was done? Thanks
