View Full Version : Question about SC guarantee?

Would like to know if anyone has ever booked an SC guarantee, and what they ended up with. Since there are so few SC's on the Oosterdam, and all of them are aft, does one usually get upgraded? I know those aft SC's are very popular so I would think they would go pretty fast. By the time we booked all was left was Guarantee suites. Now HAL's website shows everything from SY and better sold out. Would appreciate any input!

Last May we booked an SC Guarantee on the Noordam to Alaska. We ended up with an SA across the hall from the Neptune Lounge.

We also booked an SC guarantee on Noordam and got an SA across from the Neptune. You really can't go wrong with a suite guarantee unless you get a HC room which would not work for us because I love the full sized whirlpool tub.

Would love to be upgraded to an SA!! I prefer more room to deck!

We've booked two SC guarantees and were up-graded to SA both times. I think they up-grade others to the SC/SB suites to get them hooked on bigger suites.

When did you guys get your cabin assignment? We're sailing 3/22 and anxiously awaiting!

We also did book a SC GTY and ended up with a fantastic SA. Since we did love the room so much...we book SA now to get the same room and location again. We got informed about our Suite # (it was in the online registartion form) approx. 2 weeks prior to the cruise, but it can be as well that you do not know until you check in.

We got our upgrade to an SA about 25 days before sailing. I agree with other posters as we had an SZ guarantee and were upgraded to an SC on a previous cruise. I also think that these upgrades are more likely on the Vista ships and much less likely on the S and R class ships as there is usually only one suite category and fewer suites, except on Amsterdam which has SBs.
