We are thinking of renting a car post cruise to have for the day while we wait for late afternoon flights..For those of you who have done this are they pretty prompt about picking you up at the pier and is it somewhat quick at the car agencies or is it a long drawn out affair with hundreds of others with the same idea? Any info will be appreciated..I have reserved with Budget, but of course that can be changed.

Count on at least a 15 minute wait for the shuttle that goes to a number of agencies. The shuttle may yet have to go to other berths before it goes to the airport agency locations. At least 30-40 minutes to get to your agency. There shouldnt be too long lines but it might take a while. Overall probably 60 -90 minutes. If conditions are perfect maybe 45 minutes.

I'd probably grab a cab and have the driver drop you at the car rental area at the airport. We're thinking about doing this since we're going to have a late flight.
