We will be traveling with several 16/19/21 year olds on our family cruise this holiday season. We have sailed on Royal Caribbean and Princess and Celebrity, and our kids (over 18) were all welcomed in the discos though they could not buy alcohol. We will be on the Westerdam this holiday. Traveled on the Veendam on the Millennium cruise and all the kids had a wonderful time - were allowed up in something, I believe the Crow's Nest? - with all of us, and we had a very memorable time! Will Holland allow the young people (under 18 or even 21) in the bar areas if they are with their parents? We of course understand the restrictions on alcohol, and we respect them. We cancelled a New Year's trip on the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas to take the 8 day Westerdam trip. Now my kids want to make sure they have plenty of places to go and gather with new acquaintances! Can anyone give me some specifics on the evening life on the Westerdam?
Thank you very much!

On the Zuiderdam my 18 year old was welcome everywhere on the ship. She enjoyed the disco, the Crow's Nest etc. Virgin cocktails are also available everywhere at a reduced price from the alcoholic versions.

They will be welcome in the lounges and the disco and all other places aboard ship except the casino. They may also be allowed in the casino but I don't think they will be able to play any table games. They might be able to play the slots but I would suggest they avoid that. What happens if they win something and have to show their ID and Social Security Card to collect the pay off? Chances are that the casino will not pay them as they are under age.

Not that there is much chance of winning at the slots, but you never know.
