I just read a thread where someone recommended black box wine. I thought it sounded funny-- looked it up-- found that they sell it @ liq store by me-- bought a box!! It's tiny & is equal to 4 bottles!!!! And, it's good wine! I'm going to try a few glasses tonight-- then am buying for my Noordam transatlantic!

We pack ours in a styrofoam wine shipper and check it on the plane as baggage and tag it as baggage for the porters. Works just fine:)

If you are flying in the day before, perhaps you can shop for wine in your port city. If early the day of embarkation, perhaps you can ask the cab driver to stop at a wine store on the way to the pier.
Then, you could pack your wine in a carryon-sized roller suitcase.

We flew in the night before and stopped at a local liquor store. We filled both of our carryon's with the wine and the champagne making sure to wrap them with clothes so they did not hit one another.

If you leave from Ft. Lauderdale you can call Total Wine and preorder your wine and they will have it ready for you to pick up. Cherie

We used TotalWine in Ft. Lauderdale, and it was a breeze. Ordered the wine online a couple days before our flight, had our cab driver stop by the store, and they had it boxed, ready and waiting for us. Then we just walked right on the ship with it.

Which Total Wine store is en route to the port?
Thanks.

If you get on the totalwine site there appears to be only one location in Ft. Lauderdale, on Cordova Road. It's in a shopping center off of 17th right on the way to the port. They have quite a selection, have fun!

We got a shipping box from one of our local wineries, and styrofoam inserts...we are bringing ours as checked baggage. We did this when we visited Napa last year and had no breakage at all....thank God.
