I should have known our luck wasn't going to hold up. We have cruised during hurricane season before but we've never had any problem, but it looks like Frances is going to effect the Eastern Caribbean by Wednesday of next week just when we'll be in St. Thomas. Does anyone have any knowledge of this storm's track?

We're in the same boat - so to speak. You might want to check out

for the track. We're heading to Puerto Rico on Saturday to board the Golden for her Eastern Caribbean cruise on Sunday. I purchased my Bonine yesterday. Keep fingers crossed!

Your Captain will not take the ship into harms way. You may skip a port or visit a port that was not on your original itinerary.

Keep watching the Weather Channel and good luck. We in Florida will keep watching, too. Many hit by Hurricane Charley still do not have power.

I agree with Jazzsea. The Captain is not going to steer you into the path of a storm. With luck, Frances may miss the islands entirely, and we here in Florida are hoping she doens't pay us a visit.

We are also on the same ship. My husband is driving me crazy about it. I just hope it keeps turning north away from the eastern caribbean.

A couple of more days, you all will be on the ship and then you'll find out what path the storm is taking.

We will all keep our fingers crossed that Frances turns to the northeast real soon.

The latest storm track from the http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ (National Hurricane Center)) shows that it will likely stay east of most of the likely ports on your cruise.

Keep an eye because these storms can fool even the most experienced weather expert. I know first hand as a resident of Orlando!

Crap! If that hurricane messes things up, though ... even if you make the port, they could cancel excursions. I am scheduled to do a Discover SCUBA trip there. I was really looking forward to that. :(

Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Looks like it could hit florida right about Saturday...when I am supposed to board!!!

No, seriously, I really am more concerned about another hurricane hitting Florida. Hope it doesn't venture that way again.
