I understand we can open the balcony divider between two balcony cabins. We have two side by side VA cabins on the Oostedam, and are wondering how wide is the balcony divider opening?

We did this on the aft for the Yum Yum Man Cruise. I am just guessing here but I think the dividers are about 3 feet wide.

Here is a picture take at the aft, I know that the side doors are also about the same size. But this should give you an idea.

Thank you Lisa, nice picture!

By the way, can you confirm if Oosterdam has flat panel TV and DVD in the balcony cabins or will this upgrade take place later this year?

Yes, the Oosterdam already has the upgrades to all cabins:)

The part of the side VA/VB/VC dividers that open are about half that. Here are three VC cabins with two dividers open. Look at the furthest one, that is still closed.

I was sailing with a group last year on the Noordam and we had four adjacent cabins and were we able to open the dividers between them. I've never been on the Oostedam though but I would be surprised if the dividers didn't open.

Can you open them yourselves - (and close them?) or do you have to get the steward every time?

You Have to get your Cabin Steward to open them up.
