HELP! I can't make a decision here.

At first I was going to wait until next year and rebook, but I've decided I just can't be cruiseless this year. I'm thinking of Oosterdam 10/18 or Ryndam 10/12. Sea of Cortez is longer and not much more expensive. BUT, I have a pretty fixed budget. Either a 7 day at a higher cat room or 10 days at a lower cat room. I've been on only the Vistas and can't compare, are the smaller ships nicer? I've heard Ryndam is aging. I've entertained the idea of trying Princess or RCL but I love HAL's beds and afraid nobody else could measure up at the non-suite level. I'm also traveling alone so whatever line/ship has a friendlier crowd would be best. Thanks.

Hey buddy .... LTNS :)

The Ryndam is a nice size. About 1200 pax, and a very comfortable ship.
I think you'll like her!

We did the 10 day Sea of Cortez on Ryndam in November. Perfect cruise.

What happens when you get cancelled and you've already bought air tickets?

You negotiate with the airline?

"Cruiseless in Seattle,"

I would jump at the chance to sail the Ryndam. Better itinerary and a wonderful ship. It's sister ship, the Maasdam, is our favorite HAL ship (so far).

Enjoy!

ps -- I've had two Vista class ships chartered out from under me. Happens all the time with HAL -- just push the issue a bit and negotiate a deal on the Ryndam. Good luck!
