Are the pools fresh or salt?

I think salt. I know the ones I am think about were drained at night

Lido pool is fresh water; aft pool is usually salt water.

Been on the Zaandam twice and both times the aft pool was fresh water. The only salt water aft pools that I have encountered were on the Old Noordam and the aft pool on the Maasdam. I believe that they can change from fresh to salt whenever they want. Since the salt water is free I believe that we will see more in the future.
