We're on the Noordam 3/19. Has anyone renewed their vows? Could you give me a run down as how to set it up?
thanks

We did it and it's lovely. Call HaL and ask for either on board events or ship's services. They'll tell you which department handles it. Good luck!

thanksMy DH and I are renewing our vows on the Oosterdam 5/3 on our way to Alaska. It is my understanding from talking with Gift Services at HAL that the date is set by the Captain. Usually he tries to do this on a day at sea and he determines the location on the ship. It also depends upon how many others are renewing their vows too. I was told that we would have a flower arrangement in our suite and a bottle of champagne, dinner for two in the Neptune Lounge, a boutinneire for the husband and a corsage for the wife. Also, you will get a certificate signed by the Captain. Additionally, there will be a photographer present and you will get a photo sheet. The cost is $149.00, which IMO is a very good value. If you invite guests to attend, it is $12.50 per person. After the ceremony, they will have drinks (probably champagne) and hors d'ouvres. You will have the capability to decide which evening you would like to have dinner in the NL. I suggest you call gift services at HAL and talk with them. The staff there is very nice and they can answer all of your questions. Also, if you do a search for "anniversary," there is a recent thread from others who have renewed their vows on different HAL ships. :)

We have done the RoV ceremony. THe dinner was in the Pinnacle Lounge (not the Neptune). Some Captains do the vow renewals on a couple by couple basis and others do it with all the couples simultaneously. We prefer the former. I guess it just depends upon the number of couples doing the RoV ceremony.

But we definitely agree, the price is very much worth the ceremony.

Oh, one more thing, it is usually done on a formal night.

:) We Just Renewed Our Vows On Noordam In January. I Feel It Was Well Worth The $149.00 Charge. To Start When We Entered Our Stateroom There Was A Bouquet Of Flowers, Bottle Of Champagne And An Invitation To Theceremony. As Well As Avoucher For Dinner In The Pinnacle Grill On The Day Of Your Choice. The Ceremony Was Carried Out Right After Dinner On A Formal Night. It Consisted Of A Small Coctai Party With The Captain And A Few Members Of The Cruise Staff. They Had Drinks And Hors Dourves. The Day We Did It There Were Only Two Couples. So The Captaindid Each One Individually. I Understand If There A Lot Of Couples Renewing They May Do A Group Ceremony. The Ship's Photographer Was On Hand To Take Pictures.. You Can Have Guest At A Cost Of $12.50 Pp. A Couply Days Later We Recived A Beautiful Album With A Certificate Signed By The Captain, A Copy Of The Vows And Several Pictures. As Well As A Set Of Loose Duplicate Pictures. I Did It As A Surprise For My Wife On Our 30th Anniversary And She Lovedit. Even Tho She Had Been Nagging Me To Do It Since Our 25th

It was the best "excursion" we took. The photo album that comes with the package is wonderful, as are the photos and memories. I'm trying to decide if it would be gauche to re-wed once a year :D
