Zuiderdam is alive and well and heading to Europe for drydock and a Mediterranean circuit until next fall. By comparison (this is our 9th Zuiderdam cruise), this ship is in wonderful shape, considering she's 5 years old now and has hosted well over one-half million passengers plus crew. Major issues to be addressed, aside from her butt-lift, will be the potholes in the corridors, completion of the Signature of Excellence amenities, and reconfiguration of some of the public areas.

If you have any questions while I'm still aboard, ask away... I'll only be here another few days.

My special kudos are to the officers and staff. I have never seen a team on any ship so concerned with the comfort and enjoyment of the passengers as these fine people.

We certainly are! I'm now frantically taking photos of the public rooms before the changes, and my elevator door project needs updating. Jim is sleeping in this morning, and I'm so thankful for the lovely Neptune Lounge... Kim and Sienna are taking such good care of me! I can surf the 'Net, answer email, write thank-you notes, watch CNN, drink my Café Latte and enjoy my croissants and brie all at the same time! Life is sweet!

I haven't met anyone named Drew... if you mean the CD, his name is Travis, and he's a very personable, outgoing and energizing Cruise Director!

How is Caleb doing (Events)? Ask him how he survived the RSVP cruise. :)

Nicely done. Loved your photos. We embark on Saturday for an 18 day Transatlantic. We just got an upgrade but honestly can't tell that the room we ended up in is any different than our guarantee, but it must be as the category is different.

Can't wait to see the Zui, it will be our first time. And we're back on this Sept for a 24 day cruise after she gets spiffed up.

Thanks for the info...!

Candy, Please say Hello to Elvira the Manager of the Pinnacle and her husband Stephen Schultz the Culinary Manager from Tom and Lisa. They are two very special people and we love them both. I had heard that Stephen had knew surgery and may have just now returned to the ship. I wish him quick recovery.

Candy hope you and Sir James are having a wonderful time and enjoy your remaining couple of days.:)

Thanks for the update Candy..but now, get off my ship:D. We too are talking your ship, with tlc, over to dry dock. Glad she is still in fine spirits and can't wait to meet the crew.

Enjoy the remainder of your trip!

And for those who are in our room, time to start packing. LOL.

Y'all will be surprised how great she looks BEFORE drydock! They made us an offer to stay aboard for the crossing, but we couldn't get anyone to run the office for 3 more weeks

Candy <-- can't decide whether to play tonight and pack tomorrow or the other way around.

So, could you please ask Sir Jim, if you don't know. Is the Hold'em live or Poker Pro. I have seen several things. We are sailing on the "Z" in May and would love to play some live poker. Also, do you know how much the blinds are and if they have any tournaments?

Thanks so much,

Debbie

Ahoy, Debbie!

Sadly, it's a PokerPro... brand-new-out-of-the-box. Blinds are 3/6, no tourneys. See Tim (Casino Manager) or Paul (Asst. Manager) for more information. A private game can be arranged in one of the Bridge rooms, but it's not the same.

Sorry, I didn't notice. I'm fairly certain, though, that you'll find more tuxes on a 30-day Med cruise than on a 7-day Carib.
