We want to do a canopy tour in either of these locations. We were thinking of going with the operator in Antigua because the tour sounds longer and more thrilling (higher zip lines). But we have more time in San Juan so that would be the more convenient location. Can anyone who has done either of these tours give me some feedback, please?

Thanks

I just returned from the Mariner on 3/4. We did the canopy tour in San Juan with a group of about 10 friends. I would highly recommend it! There is a decent hike at the beginning (about 15 min) and then after a brief instruction period you are off. Also, I hear San Juan has more platforms than other locations. (8 lines in total) Take the tour, you won't be disappointed!

Are we talking a Zip line canopy tour?

Jim B,

Yes - it is called a canopy tour - but you zip line through the rain forest.

Great. Will be in San Juan next March.
I have done one in Costa Rica and Mexico.
Way different experience on each one.

There is also one offered in Antigua that sounds thrilling. You might want to check it out as well.

Not to be a party pooper, but there was an article in today's paper about a zipline accident in roatan where the harness broke and the woman died. If you go, double check everything.

We did a zip-line adventure in Costa Rica........FANTASTIC!
Don't be swayed by one freak accident. It's exhilarating!

From what I understand, the one we did in San Juan is among the safest ones. There are two lines instead of one for safety. They also have a third line they attach to your harness with a caribiner. This also attaches to a cable on the platform in case you were to lose your balance on the platform. All seemed very safe in San Juan.

I am taking the NCL Spirit on the 14th of June. they had the canopy tour for San Juan and then it was taken down. Is it possible to still take the tour on our own? does anyone know why the took it off the list of excursions? If we can do it on our own can anyone give us more information on where we can make reservations?
Thank you so much

I have done a zip line in Mexico and Costa Rica
but for some reason can't seem to find the information about the
one in Puerto Rico.
Would someone please give me the web site address.
