Our TA is holding cabin 5096 on Westerdam for us. It is a veranda cabin located one cabin away from the exterior elevator.
We would appreciate any information you might have on this cabin, or similarly situated cabins on the verandah deck. In particular, is there any problem with noise, etc. from the exterior elevator.
Thanks,

You won't hear the noise from the elevator.
But if you are standing right at the rail or move your chair right to thr rail, you can see a couple of people on the elevator and they can see you.

The verandahs in the indented midships section of the Vista ships are somewhat smaller than the verandahs in the fore and aft sections on Verandah deck.
The cabins are the same size, and the width of the verandahs are the same, but the verandah depth is 12 to 18 inches less in the indented section.
That's why those cabins are priced a bit less, even though they're in a more midships location, which many people prefer.
Both the cabin and verandah are still comfortable, however. The cabins immediately adjacent to the outside elevators have no verandah privacy, but yours should be OK'
When you look directly down from the rail of your verandah you'll probably see the top of a lifeboat. But there is no obstruction to looking out to the horizon.

Dear TedC.
Thanks for the info. We do prefer midship cabins on the lower decks (less motion and easier to get around the ship), and that is why the TA reserved that one -- it was about the lowest and most midship veranda cabin she could find that wasn't right next to the elevator..
But since we have never been on a ship with an outside elevator close by, I wanted to check to see if it would be a problem. Sounds like it won't be.
