I am intrigued with these cabins on the Observation Deck of the Eurodam. Do you think there would be noise from the pool area or cafe? What disadvantages would you think these cabins might have? Thanks for any insight.

We'd been looking at these cabins too. Originally they were only to have floor to ceiling windows and were classified as "outside". They decided to do a "french" balcony; I'm thinking it's very narrow and without any chairs. I think it's a bow shape like a bay window. The only downside probably would be motion being so far forward and so high. Noise usually is not a problem on HAL ships; the pool has a dome covering so it's not really exposed, Oh, the pool is 2 decks below and aft of the T cabins, I just looked at the brochure. It's certainly a new cabin concept.

I'm thinking the doors must have to slide open rather than swing like current balcony doors ... which means they couldn't be curved glass.

I've been in a similarly positioned cabin aboard MSC.
The location is fine except when the seas are rough - then those will be the most uncomfortable staterooms, particularly when trying to shower. I had to lean against the corner inside the shower to prevent myself from getting thrown out of the shower when I was aboard MSC Opera in moderately choppy seas.
Folks who are sensitive to noise will also be sensitive to deckchairs being set out on the roof in the mornings.
And although the views are sure to be great from up there, there will be no furniture on those tiny balconies, no privacy (if that's an issue for some folks) and just enough room for two folks to stand (and they'd better be on friendly terms)
IMO, There will be better staterooms that cost less elsewhere on the ship.

Thanks Brian,
It's the picture that I had perceived but didn't consider deck chairs above.
I'm inclined to agree with you about looking for other areas to book a cabin.

Thanks for your thoughts. Looking at the deck plans and picture of the ship, it appears there is no deck above the observation deck. So, I would assume there would be no noise (from above anyway) and no lack of privacy. I had no idea about the smaller balcony. That would definitely be something to think over. Thanks again!

... and no lack of privacy. I think Brian's referring to lack of privacy from the neighbors left and right.

Oh yes, there's a deck up there...
...that's where HAL is installing the new additional-charge Private Cabanas (a-la-Oceania)

Quite so.
