Hi, does anyone know if smoking is allowed on the Disney Cruise line? I know it is a terrible habbit but my husband smokes. Normally we will book a cabin with a verandah so the he can smoke out there and not bother anyone. I have heard it is strickly not allowed on Disney. Does anyone know first hand?

Disney does not permit smoking in your cabin. There is smoking allowed in certain areas of the ship. He will be able to smoke, just might have to find a 'smoking allowed' area to do it.

He can not smoke in the cabin, but he can on the verandah, they had ashtrays mounted on the walls. Also, many of the bars allow smoking in them. Especially after 9:00. They have ashtrays on the tables. All open decks I believe allow it as well.

The Promenade Deck (deck 4) is also a popular spot for smokers.

Just returned from the WONDER in August. There was no smoking inside any of the rooms and entertainment centers. It was only allowed on the outside areas. We went into watch Dueling Pianos and they had ashtrays on the tables but no smoking was allowed.

And please do not throw the butts off the balcony. People don't seem to understand the seriousness of this! A fire can be started! Please err on the side of caution to the smokers.

Seems like the best time for your husband to start the patch. There are opportunities for him to grab a smoke but maybe if he wants to stop smoking he could try? I am an ex-smoker and it bothers me more now to be around smoking. I know, I'm a snob now.
Good luck with the decision.

We will be traveling next Sept. on our first Disney cruise. Thanks for the info on smoking on the ship. We are smokers, and have no problem lighting up on our veranda. That's why we paid extra, so our room wouldn't smell like an ashtray. It's a great idea by the cruise line to limit smoking in closed areas. This should reduce the likelyhood of accidental fires.
