Looking greatly forward to Alaskan cruise 6/15/08 on the Westerdam. Keep reading about Holland America's "generous wine policy". Exactly what is this policy? Also, does anyone know if you can buy a wine package ahead of time? I was able to do so at a recent Royal Caribbean med cruise and bought a 5 bottle package of my choice at a much cheaper rate than if I would've bought the bottles individually during the actual cruise.

You can also bring it onboard with you.
You can be as generous with it as you like in your cabin.
If you bring it to the dining room there is a $15.00 corkage fee.

Cheers,

Rochelle

Can't speak about wine packages as the wines offered in these packages such as those on RCI are not wines we enjoy.

Their policy is that one can bring aboard as many bottles as they choose with no confiscation or other penalties as imposed by other cruise lines. We feel that is very generous and happily pay the corkage.
