I just priced a cruise on Royal Caribbean for October 08 and the agent said I would get a free 2 day cruise on Imperial Majesty as a bonus. Now does anyone know anything about this "free" deal??

It's free to an extent. you have to pay port taxes and fees, which amount to $59 per person.

Thanks. This is kind of what I thought. Of course I would have to fly to Ft Lauderdale and the price of airfare just increases the cost to the point where it's not worth it.

I agree that it's not worth the hassle of flying for just 2 nights on any ship, but you do have 12-18 months to actually use the cruise, so if you plan to be in south Florida anyway some time during that period, it might be worth pursuing...

P.S. Besides the $59 per person tax and port fees, there is also a mandatory $30 pp fuel surcharge.

if you check out the ships layout the free cruise cabin are inside top and bottom bunks on deck b-for a $99 upgrade you can get an oceanview room on the upper deck -ive done alot of research on thos cruise -if you like and old classic ocean liner (about 21,000 tons) with out the glitz of carnival or ncl you will enjoy this cruise

it only makes sense to do the deal if you will be in the south florida area for other reasons and have 3 days to kill its a good deal -ive read that the food is as good as the major cruise lines but not as many choices

there are a couple of reviews on this site or do a regal empress search and plenty of things will come up including pix etc etc

good luck

That's not entirely true. The free cruise cabin is a "guaranteed" inside which is assigned by cruise line personnel at the pier just before boarding the ship. While there is some risk of getting an upper/lower bunk cabin as described, there are far fewer of these than they sell "free" or minimum fare cruises, so many people will get upgraded without charge. Also, the $99 upgrade is a guaranty outside, not necessarily on upper deck, and beware there are outside cabins with bunk beds as well. If you truly don't like your assigned cabin, you can always upgrade once on board, although it can be pricey to do so. Hope this helps.
