I have seen some of the daily papers and seen this is offered on sea days.
Can someone tell me what is invovled in this, and the price and what that includes?
I'm trying to get an idea of what I want to go 'sign up for' as soon as I board.
Thanks
Meg

Pn my recent Volendam cruise a series of 4 (I belive) mixology classes were offered. They cost $10 each, you could even sign up the day of the class. Mine were held at the Crow's Nest bar. It included the recipes AND 4 drinks. You could even volunteer to go behind the bar to mix a drink. It was fun and if you did most/all of the classes you even got a certificate attesting to your proficiency:D It was fun especially if you want to try a variety of drinks at a very reasonable price!

Just did it on the Ryndam. Cost was 10 per person, they did 3 drinks per session of their choice. You get hand outs that have the recipes of each drink you get for that session. If you have a great bartender like Aldoph on the Maasdam, it can be so much fun. The guys that did it on the Ryndam were OK but not to much fun, so I did not do the rest of the Mixology classes. They are given on sea days and if you take all the classes, you get a certificate.

Thanks...
10 dollars is not much... I think I'll sign up for at least one.

Took the mixology class on the MS Oosterdam last November. Great drinks and you get the recipes to take home. If you go all three days there was a graduation (robes and shower cap's) a certificate and a nice Holland America bar tool mixing set.
If I remember correctly it was closer to $15:00 + tax but it was still cheaper than if you had bought the drinks at the bar. It was a lot of fun and we are sure that we will do it again on our upcoming Noordam cruise.

It must depend on the ship.. cuz the daily papers I read are from the same ship I will be on, and was just a couple weeks ago, and the price was 10.

We just got back from the Zuiderdam. The classes were $15+tax. We had 3 small martini 'tastes'. We had 5 classes, just show up at the bar where it is held.On ours, it was at the Atrium Bar. Bong was our teacher. We had 8 in our class. At the end he had certificates printed up, indicating that we were now professional alcohologists. It was lots of fun.
We also had a "Flairtending demonstration" in the Queen's Lounge. Ask on your ship if they will have that as well. The Mixology students had reserved front row seats.

Wow, isn't that amazing that the cost varies according to the size of the ship -$10 to 17.50? Still fun though and I'd do it again:D

I'm not sure why the different prices... but all those prices are recent...from various cruises...
whatever the price, I will attend one, as it looks neat from the pic someone posted.

I just comleted the "class" last week... ans it was fun!
$15.00 for the class and three drinks. I just walked up with no reservation. They held it in the Atrium Bar.
You also got several pages of recipes with ALL the drinks they make.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat... but, drinking three drinks in 30-minutes made for an interesting afternoon!
