I am here and you are gone,
now you are here and I am gone!
Ok I have been home a week and a day and still adjusting to my first experience with jetlag! My sleep clock is still out of sorts LOL. Guess I need to go on another cruise to re-adjust huh ??? hehehehe

I think that is a wonderful reason to go on another cruise.
Time adjustments can be tough.

Our rule of thumb is that it takes two days for each time zone. So, if you went east 7 time zones you would need 14 days to start feeling normal. You are still within your jetlag window so there is no penalty for booking another cruise while you are under this influence. Please let us know what you book so that we can begin to set a precedent for the board.

Reminds me of one of my wife's travel "rules of thumb": for every hour you spend getting to a destination by plane, you need to spend one day at the destination to recover.

That is Perfect!!! I love the way your wife thinks and ....hope she doesn't mind if I 'steal her line'. I will surely be using that one in the near future.

Jazzsea.....And EVERYONE in the 'path'.....
Sending out the very best thoughts to you that Frances changes her fickle mind and stays out to sea. Please be very careful and take no risks. Hope you and yours remain safe and escape with all intact.

Oh darn - I didn't book enough days for San Diego before our cruise. We lose 3 hours and I only booked 2 days pre-cruise.
Sure goofed that one up.

Jazzsea, I had no idea that you're so close!!! I'm at Jog and Okeechobee in West Palm. This is really scarey this time. They're not kidding around. Hope you have shutters! Our go up tomorrow. Good luck to you and let's hope for a miracle:o

:rolleyes:Oh great, I can see it now. I'm flying from Norfolk, Virginia to Fort Lauderdale for my cruise. Non-stop? No, not necessary. Do you have anything that connects in Sydney, Austrailia?

We are packing up wine, artwork and lladro to put in the storage locker. Wonder if it has a better roof than we do?
Lots of water, batteries, wine, scotch, cookies, candles, lanterns.
Moved the lawn furniture to the shed.
No hotel or motel rooms available to the south and west of us so we will stay put. We'll probably go to a shelter sooner than necessary. They get very crowded. This time I will bring my iPod and earplugs for sleeping. I'll post details once we are safe again......Hope for sunny skys soon.

Ziggy, I hope you'll forgive me for using your jet lag thread just to vent because I've turned into an anxiety ridden basket case? First, I will say with jet lag that I've found I need 2 days for every time change difference. Is that the same as someone already said? I'm simply not myself this evening:D
Anyway, to my vent. We have 3 TV stations in our area reporting this storm. Each one is telling us a different day it's going to arrive!!! One, who says they have the very latest update, says Saturday morning. The others say Thursday night into Friday morning!!! Isn't that just ducky? Bad enough we don't know where it will hit, I can understand that, but can't they get together and just agree on a day???
I'm so sorry ... I shouldn't do this to you guys. You've all been so nice and I'm taking advantage. The good news is I don't think I'll be posting a whole lot for a few days:D

Hi and God Bless to anyone on the coast. We're a twitch North of Orlando and realize that although we're worried, we don't have the worries of those who might be hit first. Please do everything you possibly can to protect your lives - property can be replaced, YOU CAN'T!

Thank you, Ziggy:) . I'm over that now ... just a brief panic moment. Now we're so busy batting down the hatches that I wish I didn't know when and where it will hit. Unless there's a miracle, it's almost on top of us. It's so hot out moving everything I decided to come in and cool off for a minute before continuing. Can't wait for DH to get home in a couple of hours so we can raise the shutters. I'll feel better when that's done.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and I hope I'll be back on here having fun with the rest of you before you know it. But even if we're fine I doubt we'll have power for awhile. Still, you never know. Miracles can happen.

Hey Heather--come on over to the "Tropical Storm Frances Graphic" thread on the Princess board. There are some fantastic photos pictured--of course they will scare the c**ap out of you. We are all freaking out over there--well I am at least. I can imagine how you are feeling! Hang in there sweetie.
