We are going to be on the Amazon 28 day Prinsendam cruise in Nov. I think for $120 - I will be doing our own washing & drying in the laundry. I might have to send out a couple of things for dry cleaning and maybe hubbys tux - but that is it. Penny

Is laundry and dry cleaning still free for suite passengers? And is it unlimited or only a certain number of times?

Dmyles1,
Are you sure that is both unlimited laundry and pressing? We did the unlimited laundry on a 17 day cruise in July. I don't think it included pressing and the cost was around $125.
We use this laundry package for longer cruises and have been pleased.

Thanks, dmyles1! I'll be on the Zaandam departing out of Vancouver on Sept 25 for 21 days through the Canal. I was wondering how much it was going to cost for the unlimited laundry package because I always try and take advantage of it. That's a DEAL, to say the least! :D

By the way ... how many Formal Nights on that cruise??

Lauderdale on the 25th of September. Thanks for the info. We will be getting on the ship in Los Angeles which makes our cruise 18 days. I didn't know that the cost was per person. I thought it was per cabin and you could fill one bag per day.

Does anyone know?

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how many shirts my husband had to bring; and how many mix and matches I had to bring. :-)

The ship looks full. I'm glad to be back on the web, net, whatever. My hard drive crashed and I hadn't backed up my passwords, etc. Everything is backed up now.

Have a good 3 day weekend. We're in NC and hoping we will be fine.

When they have the unlimited laundry packages, the price is per cabin. I think they refer to it as laundry and pressing, but mean ironing. They will also have the $12 bag, all you can get into a paper laundry bag. Some ships have unlimited dry cleaning packages also....jean

Thanks for the response,, a little clarification.. my question to HAL was for those individuals (excluding suites) (excluding the @12.00 bag). I was only concerned about using the ship's unlimited laundry and pressing services for the 22 days. I do not want to send a bag each day. do not want to go ashore to do laundry or limit what type of cloths we bring. But, we do want our formal wear pressed after formal nights, the rest of our cloths done on a regular basis. They it would cost me @120.00 each for the unlimited laundry and pressing for the 22 day cruise. Hope to see everyone on board, SOON!

Hold the phone,,, HAL now had just told me that the figure they gave me is wrong. I must now wait until i get onboard ship to find out what the unlimited pressing and laundry charge is.

So I appologize to all those who I have mislead and ask for their forgiveness.
I guess thats what happens when you try to help. I will stand in the corner until the 25th. I have been repremanded...

I'm confused. But that can be easy to do!:( I have never sailed on HAL before, but on RCCL the laundry cost included ironing (pressing), or you could just pay 1/2 on get ironing only. Does laundry include both. Is the cost per stateroom or per person for the unlimited laundry. I want to pack light and just have laundry done. Besides then I don't come home with a suitcase of dirty clothes.:o

Thank you for your recent correspondence with Holland America Line regarding our laundry facilities onboard. For your convenience, we offer full laundry and dry cleaning service on board all of our vessels. You will find laundry bags and price lists in your closet. Unlimited "laundry and pressing" packages are available for $45 per person on 7-day itineraries and $70 per person on 10-day itineraries. There is also an unlimited "pressing only" package for $30 per person for any itinerary. Also note that for passengers in full Suites (category "S") and the Penthouse Suite, full-service laundry is complementary on all ships.

A new laundry service is now being offered onboard all of our ships as well. For $12 per bag, we will wash and dry your clothes. This package, however, does not include pressing. There is a 48-hour turnaround time for this service and it can only be purchased onboard.

Self-service launderettes are situated in various locations onboard our ships, with the exception of our Vista-Class ships [ms Zuiderdam, ms Oosterdam, ms Westerdam]. The facility consists of washers, dryers, irons and ironing boards. There is a charge for the use of the laundry facilities; irons and ironing boards are provided at no cost. For safety reasons, we ask you to refrain from ironing clothes in your stateroom.
