Booked the Zuierdam for next year. Could not believe the deal I got from
my TA. Called Hal direct and it was @1000.00 more for the 2 of us.
Took the Cat S room 7063 on Upper Veranda Deck. Can anyone tell me
if this is a good location, I know it's mid-ship which is good, but what about
the veranda, is it pretty private, does it have a over hang so those above
can't look down? The cruise is so far off, I'll have no problem changing rooms
if necessary. Most of our cruises have been with RCCL but thought it time
for a change.
Thanks for any info you can supply.

you will be fine...decks are very private. (can't lean over and look down to the next level). in fact, I sleep out on the deck! you'll love the Zuiderdam...she's a beautiful ship. make certain you enjoy some time at the thermal spa...sooooooooooo relaxing!
location of cabin is excellent. since you are in a S category...you have a lot of special amenities...enjoy! only advise I'd give on the negative side would be to NOT order room service for breakfast. (and I had to really dig for that negative!). Loyal to HAL (for good reason...top of the line!)...was most recently on the Zuiderdam this Spring and will be sailing on her sister ship, Oosterdam in November.
Enjoy!

7063 is a good location. I have stayed in 7060 and 7055.No one can look down on your verandah. The cabins are beautiful and spacious.
You are also close to the Neptune Lounge. This is a lovely private lounge for S class passengers. You can go there for snacks, coffee, and juices. I liked to go there first thing in the morning while my family slept, grab a cup of coffee and read my book or take snacks back to the cabin.

Hi, thanks for you for your replies. Being new to Hal I'm not familar with the
layouts of their ships. Hope this is the first of many more cruises with
them. Thanks again and am looking forward to that breakfast on the
veranda. Too bad it's only a 7 day cruise...I also love to read and there is
nothing better than sitting back with a book and reading while sitting out
on the veranda. Can't wait!
Ciao,
Ann

Cabin 7063 - Rotterdam deck - you are 2 away from the glass elevators. People will be able to view about a third of your verandah from the elevator.

On the Oosterdam we had cabin 7054 and on the Westerdam we will have cabin 7053 - midway among the S cabins - away from bend in ship and away from glass elevators.
