Who says this? It would be refreshing if someone was actually going to make a decision.

So let's see - 10 PST will be 1 PM here in the east.
That seems to be cutting it short for a cruise ending and beginning on Saturday. If we did our usual 2 day pre-cruise, by now we would be in Atlanta waiting for our next flight into Ft Lauderdale.
Really think they should be making decisions sooner than this. So many people are flying in from CA and other places a day earlier at the least.

There must be so many factors that must be considered prior to posting a definitive decision.
Just to say, Zuiderdam will not return to Port Everglades doesn't begin to cover it.
If they post too hastily, folks will be screaming, when...."when will she pull in"? "What about those people supposed to be disembarking and flying home? What about their flights? What about pax scheduled to board?
When will Port Everglades reopen?
Will terminal buildings be damaged?
How about considering alternative ports?
Do they need more stores?
How about crew supposed to join/leave ship with their air tickets needing to be changed?
Should this Saturday's cruise be cancelled entirely? Should it be shortened?
Etcetera Etcetera Etc
And.......drum roll please........The COMPENSATION that we know some will be screaming for.
So many issues need to be addressed. And so many of the answers are unknowable. Who can answer most of it? Until the storm hits, no one knows.
I think we should cut them a little slack.....as hard as it is for those who are deciding trying to get to Florida ASAP. Obviously they can't go know......Folks are being told to LEAVE Florida. Not to come!!! Hotels would probably turn any new check ins away. No idea if they force current guests to leave.

Since most of the country is on DST, you would think that they would have specified the update time as such.

Considering all that is involved, I would hate to be making the decisions at HAL today.
I think we can be sure that they are aware of how frantic hundreds and hundreds of their passengers are right now; how much money (theirs and their customers') is at stake; how much danger there is to ships and other company assets....not to mention the most important factor of all, the safety of all the lives they touch each week.
I really believe they will do the best they can for everyone involved. After all, they've been at it for 129 years.
