Has anyone else noticed in the past 2 days you cannot access the help page from the easycruise website?

Looks fine to me. While I didn't actually submit a question, I got all the way to the screen where you do so.

Okay, I just checked and I'm able to get to the help page now. I know I wasn't going crazy because my DH couldn't open it up either. It kept taking me to a generic blank webpage, but now it's wiped out my past correspondence. No biggie, was just asking about purchasing wine to bring home, would they take it and give it to us at the end of the cruise? or just not allow it on the ship at all. Any past cruisers have any experience with this?

webe - I would ask someone at the front desk if they could store it for you, otherwise it will probably be taken away. Many of the wine shops in Greece will send your wine home for you also. It is really hard to fly home with wine as you can no longer taken it with you in your carry on but have to pack it. We enjoyed many of the Greek wines but never made it back to the ship with any.

Thanks SaylorGirl, I never thought of having it sent home. We've brought wine home before in our checked bags and never had a problem but now I have a different problem and that's if we'll be going at all! The help page is back up but I can't send them a question. Keep getting an error message. I'm a little nervous to say the least. My DH says we better start looking at alternative vacation plans but I'm trying to be optimistic since we haven't heard from ec so far. I really feel sorry for the ones that were supposed to be sailing this Saturday, what a bummer.

Webecruzin- just saw your sailing date on one of the other postings. You still have a couple of weeks so don't despair!! Strikes in Europe are so common on everything that you just have to have faith that it will work out.

Thanks Saylorgirl, I'm a natural worrier and we've anticipated this trip for so long. Something similar happened to us a few years ago, we were supposed to sail on NCL's Norway for 12 nites in Europe and at the last minute it was cancelled due to a fire on the ship. NCL gave us a refund and 50% discount on a future cruise but it just wasn't the same going to the Caribbean instead. But it looks like easycruise is offering alot more in compensation. I have to say they've shown excellent customer service so far. Anyway, I'll post here if I hear anything more. Eileen

Webecruzin - I agree that Easy Cruise is tops in customer service the big ships should take lessons from them. We were scheduled last September on Easy Cruise II and it was unfortunately canceled just a couple of weeks before we left. So I understand completely what you are going through. But Easy Cruise was fantastic!

I've submitted a question as to if our sail date of May 3rd was still on and in 2 days they still have not answered. I'm hoping it's just because they're very busy right now. However, I started to see if I could book our sail date and the first date available to book is showing May 17th. Hope that's because the ship is full. But now my husband says we really need to make alternate plans. I'm in a quandry because we could take a cruise from Charleston which is only a few hours drive from here. Anyone else out there booked for an earlier date than May 17th?
Saylorgirl, thanks for your support!

I finally received a response from ec and they basically said that so far the ship is scheduled to sail on May 3rd. They didn't mention if it will be sailing this Saturday or not, though. They also added that if I choose to cancel at this point, then all usual rules apply as to no refund, just a 20.00 fee and the rest would be on an account to use at a later date. So, we are going with Plan A and hoping for the best! Just 1 week to go till we leave for Athens!:D

Well that is indeed good news! I would guess that it is sailing this Saturday! I would go ahead and go with plan A also. Are you spending any time in Europe prior to your cruise?

Hi Saylorgirl,
We're really getting excited now about the trip. We only have 2 weeks vacation left this year so we'll leave on Wednesday ,and stay 2 nites in Athens (my birthday is on Friday so we're staying at the Grande Bretagne!) We've arranged for Paul from Greek Taxi to pick us up at the airport because after 15 hours of traveling we'll probably be pretty beat. Then we'll do a whirlwind tour of Athens on Friday and board the Life on Saturday. I'm still packing and unpacking trying to fit it all in one carryon for each of us, but we'll probably check one bag with stuff we can replace if lost. I'll definitely drop a line or 2 here as soon as I can after we board to let you all know how the Life is.

Webecruzin2,
The metro from the airport to the Grand Bretagne is about as easy as it gets as the hotel is directly across from the subway system and about 50 yards from walking out of the airport terminal., and it's only 10E for 2 from the airport.

superdrews,
Yeah thanks, we've already considered that and maybe for a young guy like you (or even my husband;) ) it might be no problem but we decided to do it this way just for the peace of mind knowing someone will be there to take our bags and whisk us to the hotel. (I much prefer being "whisked" than getting on the metro:p ) I know, I'm spoiled but this is a milestone birthday and I'm about to retire (after working my butt off for a thankless company for 20 something years) so this trip is a little special to us. Thanks for the suggestion, though and like I said I promise to post here asap after boarding.

It sounds like a wonderful way to spend your birthday! You will love it in Greece and the ports you will be visiting will be beautiful. Don't forget to pack your sunscreen. Looking forward to your posts when you get back!
