Orlando Int'l airport closing 12 noon Fri.

They just announced that OIA will not accept any incoming flights after 12 noon Fri and may be closed down until noon Monday.

Many school districts across the country don't start the fall term until after Labor Day. I can only imagine how many families are at WDW, Sea World, etc. for their last hurrah before school starts. What I cannot hardly imagine is the chaos at the airport as they're all trying to get out of there before this storm hits. :eek:

Orlando International still has some damage from Charley.

A few days ago we got an e-mail from US Airways informing us that the Club down there has heavily damaged and will be closed for some time.

I'm a Captain for United and was in Orlando yesterday. I was sched to fly from Dulles back there on Sat. As of noon Pacific my flights have been cancelled. Looks like we are now puling down all Florida operations beginning noon tomm. Saw some minor damage at the airport in the wing we use, but not to bad. Hope it fares as well with Francis.

I'm on a layover at home. Did the Chicago-Las flight last night and have to go LAS-SFO-IAD tomm am.I'll see what is in store for me upon my arrival in Dulles. Just like everyone else, hoping Frances spins it's way off to sea and they will reinstate our flights.
