Great ship but never been on a cruise and been so rudely treated by some of the staff.
Will write a full review later and you can make up your own mind
you can see by my name that i do like Italian cars so I'm not biased.
P.S. any one like to help them selves to a warm drink lol

Lol, me too Purplerain. Well, sort of, My deposit is paid & I'm just gathering funds to make my final payment for the end of the month for 23rd August sailing.

Have you read post 3 here? (Sorry, I don't know how to do a direct link to the actual post.)

I've treated ourselves to our first balcony cabin...starboard.

I understand the 'undercooked' beef issue, it is the European way & I've generally come to like it like that, but......the rest.......help!!

My only thoughts while reading that post was how much some people are never satisfied. I do not know that is the case, but all I can do is enjoy the cruise. I read awful reviews for the cruise I went on in 2003, but I loved it! I had the time of my life. I guess being with friends and family, visiting awesome ports, and having the ocean in sight almost 24/7 is more important to me than the staff turning my bed down (!!!). lol

I say we go for it and judge for ourselves ; ). It would be nice if the review were positive, but oh well... Life goes on.

Me too. Also, with what is virtually 4 adults in our case sharing a quad, we tend to ban the stewards from coming into the cabin if we can, not a pretty sight.:D

Just came back( 19april 2008) home from a cruise with the msc poesia.
First .: with a maiden cruise a lot of things don't run perfect, the organisation have to get trained
second: this wasn't a very expensive cruise.
having said that, my experience is that this was one of my worst experiences( and i made 52 cruises!) on a cruiseship.
a/ many of the staff were unfriendly, tired and specially the officers, arrogant!
b/ breakfastbuffet oke but chaotic, same for the lunchbuffets, dinner was
most of the time very very plain, sometimes even horrible, even in the speciality restaurant. only the last nights food got better.
c/ you have to pay extra for roomservice!
d/you have to pay extra for the gym and sauna!
e/a daily newspaperservice (3euro),great idea, didn't function half
of the cruise.
f/no feedback on complaints, or they were forgotten
g/good shows, but very short(25 min).3 times in 5 days a classic music
show with the same artists.Everywhere music in the lounges, but some very bad.Talent show was better than the proffesionals.
h/ casino opens very late , on sea days after 4 o clock, expensive slotmachines , allmost no pennymachines.therefore little players.most casinodealers in a very bad mood, allthough they didn't had to work very hard.
i/ disembarkation chaotic and slow.
I think I said enough!!!!

i did say the ship was good and enjoyed the cruise but the rudeness of some of the staff and lack of information was not acceptable by anyones standards

I just desembarqued from Poesia and found all the staff was very polite and professional.

Some times the problem is with people behaviour:
I saw a drunk man being politely envited to leave the bar;
and I saw another one who wanted to enter the Casino with two teenagers being explained with a very professional smile the reason why teenagers are not allowed there (even if he should understand it...).
And I saw a pool assistant firmly asking children (and not only children) not to jump into the pool. But security comes first.

Please, try to understand the reason why they treated you so "rudely"... are you shure you respected the rules? Are you shure that your behaviour wasn't unsafe?

Are you shure that you could understand the informations that were given and that you say that were lacking? I saw some turquish guests that only spoke turquish and I think that maybe they experienced some problems with informations...
