If you turn down your sheets and put a chocolate mint on your pillow before going to dinner, you might be addicted to cruising.

When you have to pull out a bottle of the ship's shampoo about every 6 weeks to remind you of a favorite cruise smell, you're addicted to cruising.

When you have a bottle of after shave that you keep in your dopp kit and use only on cruises, and you dig it out to take a whiff every now and again, then you're absolutely, positively addicted to cruising. (I didn't know this would turn into a confessional!)

You are addicted to cruising (and CC) when:

you have the san diego web cam bookmarked and you try to watch the cruise ships sail into and out of post. (it was pretty the other day to watch a Carnival ship sail out of the fog and dock.)

when you are constantly buying fabric to make more cruise clothes (or is that addicted to buying fabric)

you don't know what day it is without floormats in your home

you buy a mini jiuce squeezer so you can keep having your fresh oj

This might be for HAL ships only but....

...when you can't say the words Lido, Verandah, Upper Verandah, Promenade, Upper Promenade (etc etc) without the same accent and tone as the woman on the elevator. (lol)

...when you take any leftover pillow chocolates home in order to extend your stay mentally by putting them on your bed at night (yeah...i have about 10 of them on my dresser right now LOL)

To the previous poster - every time we went to lido deck i couldn't help but sing the chorus from "Lido Shuffle" (liiiiii-dooooooo whoaaaaaaaaaaaaa). I still do it whenever I think of the word Lido.

Krazy Kruizers,

Thank you for starting this discussion back in 2004.

To which I might add:

"But Officer, I'm NOT drunk ! . . . I just still have my 'Sea Legs' !! "

When talking to neighbors/friends about your upcoming cruise, all you hear is "But didn't you just get back from a cruise ?"

"You can explain the differences between a JJ and an HH"

You keep one "Cruise Suitcase" permanently packed (and ready).

And to one of the previous posts, I would amend it to: "The only clothes you buy are "cruise-worthy"

PLUS my particular symptom:

You only admit to your NEXT booking, concealing the two more after that (because people might plan an intervention)

SO many of the above are true for most/all of us addicts........but I have to add one more.

Several years ago, after returning from a long cruise, I went to lunch with "the girls" at a place some of you may know - starts with a P and ends with a Chang, and they sat down and somehow, I was still standing waiting for my chair to be pulled out for my royal "highness" to be seated.

And, yes, hotel rooms are no longer rooms, they are definitely cabins. Catch myself every land trip.

Good thread for us addicts to get our "fix"!!!

May I add ...

I know I am an addict, because I can not resist the urge to book the next FCC while onboard, ensure I get the OBC (who else even knows what this stuff means?), AND change my Cruise Countdown while onboard, so there is NO BREAK in the avatar, which I would take as a sign of a serious deficiency in my life!

And the only MEETINGS for this addiction are in a place called the Piano Lounge! What to do???? Keep coming back...it works if you work it...
