Most cruises offer a Bloody Mary special between certain hours of the day - often on sea days.
I posted about the Bloody Mary bar setup in another thread and jean asked the question - she had not seen it.
On our 16-day Noordam Holiday sailing they offered this remarkable "create your own Bloody Mary" set-up we stumbled upon one day in the Crow's Nest.
There was a selection of premium liquors - Grey Goose, Absolut, Ketel One, Finlandia, Stoli, etc. - the bartender free poured a very generous shot of your choice of Vodka - $4.00
You then proceeded to a cordoned area where they had every imaginable thing (and then some!) you'd want for your Bloody Mary, plus little appetizers, a beautiful ice sculpture, veggies, dip etc. It was fantastic. The jumbo shrimp were the largest I've seen - they had oysters on the half shell, and all kinds of other goodies.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? We've been to Bloody Mary happy hour where the proce was reduced, I think it was on the Zui, but I don't recall them having the same set-up.

On the Oosterdam they had a one-time deal with the same set-up. No oysters on the half shell though. And no free-pour, they measured the shot. Kind of a fun thing.

WOW! That sounds fantasic!
HAL doesn't have any kind of set-up like that. They do have bloody mary specials - usually around bingo time when they are reduced in price.
Gee - when we were on the 16 South American cruise on the Noordam a few years ago they didn't offer anything like that.

KK;
They did this at least four different afternoons in the Crow's Nest - we got addicted! It got to be a pretty popular hangout and we met quite a few nice folks while we compared our different Bloody Marys...
I hope they offer it at least once on the Noordam's final voyage... :)

The Maasdam had the same set-up (everything you mentioned minus the oysters) poolside at the Lido pool the day we were anchored off Martha's Vineyard. It was a lot of fun and the Bloody Mary's were great. Lots of choices to choose from and it was fun trying to decide what you wanted to use. :D

KK - You missed it! When we were together last March on the "O" they had this. Only a handful were there and it was a mid-morning event. Guess just us AA people found and atteneded.

Oh Wow! I would love this! the Bloody Marys they serve in the lido on special aren`t very good. I have never been on a ship that does this. I think it depends on the F&B manager when they have neat things like this. We had great drink specials on the Zaandam in Spring. Ekerr, have one for me on the Noordam if they have it.....jean

jean- check the daily program and look for the Bloody Mary Special - if you don't see it , I'd ask a bartender - chances are they'd direct you to where it is happening.
We love it and try not to miss it - it one of HAL's best promos, IMO...
Btw- we've not seen oysters since that time on Noordam - only reason I remember is because I had a few... not my favorite, but - hey give me a few drinks a who knows what will happen!!! :D

jollycruiser - guess the reason we missed it is because we don't drink in the morning so we tend to skip over that part of the daily program.
HMMMM - might have to change our habits.
Drink in the morning.
Sleep in the afternoon.
