:) .......With all the turmoil of Frances:eek: ....(she is still and will be causing havoc all weekend), I have a bit of fun news.....I GOT MY CABIN ASSIGNMENT today!
I am in 7120 Rotterdam Deck. It is inside (which is what I expected) Category J. I am almost at the end of the Hallway...looks like it is all the way Forward (looking at the HAL Brochure).
Hope its nice.
Not sure if J is one category better than K?...is that the way it works on HAL?...Anyway, just thought I would let ya'll know! Oh I think its 185 square feet...nice size for an Inside!

It is very calm here now...but we are expecting LOTS OF RAIN AND STUFF very soon.....
She looks like she is going to hit the Melbourne area tomorrow:( ...
Be safe everyone!!

Lois - The inside cabins...185 square feet are very spacious. You will be very comfortable.

A year ago this weekend we were in the Cocoa Beach/Melbourne area. We were pursuing a move there....it didn't work out...although it is still our hope...I have to wonder "what if".......stay safe, my friend.

Lois, I always love it when, having booked a Guarantee, I get the assignment of cabin. It's kinda like Christmas ... even though I bought the present myself. :D

On S-class ships J and I category cabins are the very best located, though in my opinion J is better than I because J is on the lower promenade deck. On Vista ships I really can't say; they are better-located than K cabins, though, of that I'm sure. J cabins on Main deck are supposed to be square and rather larger than normal, while I think the J cabins on higher decks have a "better" location but are more standard in size. However ... for a single person, I'm sure the cabin will be perfect. I know when I'm alone in an inside cabin I can't believe how much space I have to myself. Even when I have Christopher with me, the amount of room in these inside staterooms is amazing ... I've been in some truly itty-bitty inside cabins (those on the Orient Line's Marco Polo are about the size of a shoe box), and so I can say with some confidence that in the cabin-size department, when compared category-to-category, HAL really has the edge.

Lois, glad you have your assignment, if you have the twin set up, you can just throw all of your junk on the other bed! I tried to do that, but my husband didn`t appreciate it and threw it back!!!....jean

Hi everyone:)

Tommy it was just nice to get a cabin;) ....the storm is coming so I am still concerned.....looks like she will go west of us...THANKFULLY....but, and this is a BIG BUT......she has slowed down her movement to about 5 mph:eek: ......that is going to BRING LOTS AND LOTS OF RAIN~with MUCH FLOODING........wish us luck and my best goes out to everyone else too!

Rev, my TA told me the J Inside are some of the largest on the Z...:) but I agree, for me, most are just fine!...The one really teeney cabin I had was on Sovereign of the Seas....it was VERY SMALL.....122 sq feet. Even for a solo cruiser, that shower was unreal. I am not a big person but I barely had room to move in that shower!.....I know on Century the inside cabins are about 172 sq feet....and that is great...so this one on the Z should be lovely too!

Congratulations on getting your cabin assignment.

But 7120 is in the Bow of the ship - not forward.

Yes 7120 is aft.

Those hurricanes in Florida are getting to you.

You do need to get away.

Hope you are still all right down there.

The pointy end, the bow, is forward. The stern is far aft. 7120 is aft.

Are you TRYING to confuse Lois?? The bow IS forward. Aft is at the end of the ship where the propellers (screws) are.
Looks like the storm is getting to you...lol.

  Me...confused...LOL I stay confused LOL.........

We all have our ways of remembering aft, forward, port, starboard, etc. etc. etc.
I always remember aft by...the dining room LOL On Celebrity anyway;) ....and forward is down at the other end...example, on CENTURY....The Hemisphere Lounge is all the way forward! ( I am hoping CROWE'S Nest is in the same area on Z)
Associate everything with food and drink:D
