In the new 2008-2009 Caribean & Mexico brochure it has added under the suites that they are now offering unlimited bottle bwater and unlimited sodas.
Has anyone received these in their suites? If so was it can sodas or fountain sodas? Do they auto replace them or do you have to ask for them?
Thank you
Sailing on the Noordam for a wonderful 10 days 10/18 in a suite! Can't wait

I have the Caribbean & Mexico Brochure for September 2008 through December 2009. On page 61, it outlines all amenties included for Deluxe Verandah Suites and Penthouse Suites. No where do I see mention of unlimited soda or bottled water. We have cruised a great many times in "S" cabins and have never had any mention of soda included in the price of our Suite. This would be something brand new if, indeed, it is now included.
Where did you see this written? We don't drink much soda so it doesn't mean much to us but I am interested to see it in writing.
Hmmmm... It just occured to me you might be referring to the Upgrade Amenity Package which can be purchased if you are in an "S" or "PS" Cabin. I'll go look for what is included in that package. I'm guessing that is what you saw. It is at costs additional to the regular cabin price.

In my book there is a white label over the section you mentioned. I pulled it off (not easy) and sure enough it mentions the complimentary water and soft drinks for SS and SZ cabins. It must have been a misprint because the label is on there very tightly.
I wouldn't count on getting it. You must have gotten a brochure that slipped through the cracks.

In all suites from PH down to SY or SZ? I don't have that in my brochure. We're in an SY, so I hope that's included.

Since I made the post I phoned HAL guest services and sure enough they said unlimited water and soda and they will replenish when needed but you have to tell your room steward. This is a great addition. I use soda for some drinks plus I enjoy a diet once in awhile and drink water all the time.

Where is the information about the upgrade amenity package on the website? Do I look under "staterooms"? "services"? I didn't see anything that was obvious.

OK. I just have a 2007-2008 Panama Canal. I guess it doesn't apply here.
Is there a place on the website that describes the Upgrade Amenity Package? I don't know anything about this. Is it only for certain ships?

According to the brochure it is from Superior V. Suites Cat. SS-SZ, Deluxe V Suite and Penthouse. If you go to HAL web siteyou can view the brochure PAGE 60. Stateroom upgrading to a suite.

Sorry I just went to their site and it is not on the page. But you can call guest relations and they will confirm it with you, as this is new.

IMO, that's a nice feature if they're going to do it.

Well now, just called HAL again and this time I spoke to Holly of guest services. She told me something different than Robert told me earlier today.
MISPRINT it figures. Sodas no and Deluxe and Penthouse suites get 1 complimentary bottle of water. Oh well, I will jsut bring some sodas.

That's a shame. Bad form letting brochures go out like that. Someone in HAL had a good idea that was voted down.

My husband said since it is in the brochure I should try to press them. You can call and speak with someone else and probably get a different answer.
They knew about it as sail7seas has a new brochure that had a sticker coveing that part so they did know about it. It's just a shame that all the reps on the phone aren't on the same page!

The online (electronic) version of this brochure does NOT mention the free water and soda. So they have fixed it.
Too bad. At Deluxe Verandah prices they should just throw in everything, or at least everything that doesn't take spaces away from other people (if they threw in the spa and the Pinnacle Grill, then there'd be no space left for anyone else)

Hello Bob,
After doing a bit of research (since this isn’t my area of expertise, but I didn’t want to have to send you someplace else), I found that there were some brochures that had misprints in the amenities, and the complimentary water and soda was one of the errors. This amenity is only available on the Grand Voyages.
With warm regards,
