I was on the Zuiderdam in 2006 in an SA... we booked a VF this year, yes I know it is alot smaller, but will I be happy? Couldn't afford the SA this year. Anyone have pictures to share of the normal balcony cabins?

This is of the VF with a steel balcony (versus the Plexiglas)

Mock-up of what a VF with steel balcony would look like.

Hope these help!

Will the VFs look the same on the Eurodam? That's when my Mom and I will have when we sail on her for New Years (except we will have a plexi-glass balcony). :D Does anyone have a pic of a plexi-glass balcony?

I don't know much of anything about the Eurodam, but I think it is a Vista class ship too!

Here is a photo of the exterior balconies on a Vista class ship.

This is my balcony of a SS, so the VF will not be this large.

The E-dam is a Signature Class ship, as will be her sister due out in '10.

Just as the R-class ships are similar to the S-class, the Signature is similar to the Vistas. The deckplans for most of the decks will be the same; there's an additional deck and some new cabins.

Thanks for setting me straight Ruth! As I mentioned, I am not up on the Eurodam, as I am touring the Med. on the Noordam. :)

So the cabins should be similar then?

Thanks for the pics... yeah it is going to be such an adjustment from an SA cat to a VF cat... no concierge or extra room etc. I just couldn't fathom spending 4k on an SA pp when we got is for 1356 in 2006. Wow what a jump. Must have been a pricing mistake I am thinking.

There can be a big price difference between SC , SB , and SA suites on 7 day Caribbean itineraries.

In 2007 my SC suite was $1800 pp. On the same sailing, a SB was $2300, and a SA $2800.

That price spread has come down. For most 7 day cruises, a SB is $200 pp more than a SC...a SA $200 pp more than a SB.

(I see you're on the Zuiderdam Nov 29 Panama Canal cruise. This cruise appears to be sold out, which may explain why the last few SA's were so $, if you've recently booked)

We'll know soon enough! I'm under the impression that the same category cabins on each class of ship will be the same size. The E-dam also has an entirely new class (or do they have new classes ) of cabin.

Will the VFs have the same kind of funiture that I see in these pics of the SS? Also, do I spy the name "Maasdam" in the plexi-glass of those Vista balconies? That's so cool!! :D
