Hi Folks:
Does HAL notify passengers when the ship moves between time zones?
If so, how are they notified?
Thanks in advance for your input.
Best Regards to all.
Joe:)

Hi Folks:

If so, how are they notified?Yes, you will be notified. It might also be in the daily program, but the best way is the notice under the pillow chocolates.

Yes, you're notified. And if you don't get the message, you're just not paying attention! :D
The C/D will mention it at the end of the evening show. It will be listed in the Daily Program, and there will be a card under the chocolate on your pillow.

I like to save those cards and use them as bookmarks. It makes me happy when I pull one out and read: "A gentle reminder that the ship's clocks will be turned (forward or backward) one hour tonight, as we sail into a new time zone." (The cards I'm currently using are green for foward and blue for backward.) Or: "The ship's captain and crew wish you a restful sleep tonight as we look to tomorrow's horizons."

I just wish I took enough cruises to have a neverending supply. :D

On a couple of Mexican Riveria Cruises the ship did not change times with the time zone but that was announced and in the daily program. If the time zone changes you will get a card with the chocolate.

On our Eastbound transatlantic the clocks changed at noon, instead of overnight, which was a great idea! We never lost the hours sleep over multiple tome zones!!

I am not sure what are the determining factors in changing the clock, but there are times when the changes are made upon entering a new time zone and I have been on cruise where the ship's time is one hour off from the local port time. It is very important to be mindful of the time changes on port days.

Good luck to you and enjoy your cruise!
