Does HAL have Tux rental available to have when we board the ship? On our last cruise on Celebrity, my DH ordered his Tux and it was waiting for him in the cabin when we boarded. Is this available through HAL?

Yes, they do have a tux rental. There is usually a paper in with your documents giving you the information.

company is called cruiseline formalwear. You could find their web site using a google search. I've used them twice now and was well satisfied. DO recommend that you go to a local tux rental place and get measured (just tell them you have an out of town wedding you need to send measurements to) rather than having your spouse measure based on web site directions. The tux shop folks do it every day. Only other recommendation is that if you have an odd shoe size (like my 14EEE) I always rent my shoes at home and take them with me. Supposedly cruiseline formal can handle odd sizes but I'm not willing to gamble.
Will be using them again for our upcoming Nov cruise

I just ordered my husband's tux today with Cruiseline Formalwear. When you call in the toll free number, you select the cruise line before being connected to an operator. It is the same vendor for Celebrity.

Hi Tealady,
If you sail from San Diego sometime there is a place called Men's Fashion Depot that sell a tux for only $109. After two cruises, I figure that it was paid for ;) and I am on my 8th cruise.....Dennis

I understand the convenience of renting, but being a cheapskate I bought my own tux. I had to pay $100 but I later found new tuxedoes on ebay for $70.

My husband just rented a tux on our 8/28/04 Zuiderdam cruise - worked out great!-he had a black and a white jacket. best part was that our assistant dining room steward knocked a glass of champagne in his lap. - and we didn't have to pay for the cleaning!
It was all cool - for DH it was cool and wet - he was amazed how much champagne there is in a glass!

Yes, the cruiseline tux rentals are easy and reasonable - Joe rented one and I was surprised at how good he looked in it!
On the other hand, although one may be able to get a Tux for $200 or less, there is alot more to formalwear than just a jacket and pants. Shirt(s), cufflinks and studs, tie and cummerbind or vest, shoes & socks - gonna spend at least another $100-250 on these items, and since a gentleman only does this once or twice in a lifetime one doesn't wanna cheap out...

My hubby rented a tux for our Zuiderdam cruise in February. It was waiting for him in our cabin. The fit was perfect and he looked wonderful. BUT for our next cruise, I believe we will buy one at a nearby tuxedo outlet here in North Carolina.
I took my two teenage sons to the outlet a month ago and we got the whole deal for both boys for under $300.00. That will get us through proms and formals in college. YEA!
PS--Don't our men look amazing in their tuxes?

Thanks to everyone for the information. This is the company he used on our last cruise on Celebrity. I could not remember the name. He will again be looking dapper at the dinner table ;).
