Oosterdam -- Panama Canal Transit

Any tips on shore excursions between Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale? The ship leaves on 9-29-04 and I'm looking for advice -- pro or con.

If you stop in Costa Rica, I would highly recommend the Torteguera (sp) canal excursion. I did this excursion in Costa Rica this past March and aboslutely loved it.

Need to knoe what ports you will be visitng as each ship varies some of the ports.

The Tortuguero Canal cruise is ofered only on cruises from Puerto Limon on the Caribbean side.

This cruise stops at Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Zihuatinahu/Ixtapa, Puerto Quetzal, Puntarenas, Curacao, and Half Moon Cay.

My wife and I are going to Tikal from Puerta Quetzal, Guatemala. Quite pricey, but once I saw some pictures of the place, I had to go. You gotta get up early and be ready to leave as soon as they dock at 6:30.
