It looks very small. Maybe the photo is deceiving? But then again, any size verandah is fine with me.

It says on the PDF Deck plans for these Verandah's :
"VT staterooms have compact verandahs." There are only 10 of these.

If you just want to stand out there to get some fresh air it will be fine. I prefer the larger balconies so we can sit out there. But, there is a group of people that this will appeal to....why pay for a large balcony if you just want to step out there a few times....or maybe you just like having the larger window.

Thanks for the link. That balcony is way too small for us. In fact the one we have when we stay at the Embassy Suites in Ft Lauderdale is larger than that -- actually has a small table and chair.

It's usually on $50 per person to upgrade from this category to another. I say it's worth it.

They weren't kidding when they said "compact"!
I just cancelled a cruise where I had one of these booked. Cancelled due to change in plans unrelated to cabin. BUT, had I stayed on that cruise I would have changed cabins after seeing that photo.
They shouldn't classify that as a veranda cabin, its misleading. Maybe mini-veranda or veranda-ette or "standing room only" veranda. Or at the very least they should have a photo or rendering of the cabin (including the veranda) on the website.
Keep in mind I think that the description of the cabin as having a "compact balcony" was only on the floor plans, not in the general room description they have when you book the room. Had I gone on the ship thinking I was getting a veranda and got that I would have been disappointed.
That's why I love CC! Do your research, less surprises.

That's not a verandah - it's barely a balcony!
HAL could have saved the steel and left them as floor-ceiling windows...

It is perfect for us. I only use the balcony to see where we are and take photos.
