How long time wise from port till you are actually off the Mississippi River? How many miles?

Just to add: on the rivers we are speaking of statical miles not of nautical miles.

We left NO at 5 pm on Fantasy a couple of weeks ago, and I woke up at 12:30, looked out the window, and could still see lights from the banks. I think shortly after that, because the ship was rocking a little bit more than usual.

Rolling down the river is an added adventure when cruising out of Nola. :D

When you return, you will start seeing lights about 7-8PM.

Food was wonderful! Hubby and I aren't picky...as long as it is cooked and edible, and I don't have to cook and clean...hey it's all good! We did enjoy everything, except one piece of mushroom and goat cheese pizza I tried. UGH! I still miss that darn ice cream machine. We went out to eat at a chinese place Sunday afternoon, and they have a softserve machine. We just smiled at each other when we got our cones on the way out! lol The ship was very clean, and we had wonderful service the whole 5 days. I think I like sea days as well, if not more, than shore days. Just laying in the blue striped chairs, with the sea breeze on you, listening to the 2 man calypso band playing "Everything gonna be alright" and "One Love" by Bob Marley. Oh man that was heaven. Big Tex is a hoot. He keeps you laughing. The only annoying thing was waiting in a long line wrapped around the stairs to get off the ship in cozumel. That and having to leave the last morning! Can't wait to sail her again Nov. 09 with the whole family. She will have had her time in dry dock by then, can't wait to see how they are gonna improve her.
