This update is for anyone who was on the May 9-19th voyage of the Noordam in the Mediterranean, and was interested in finding out the status of the birth of our new granddaughter!

Melody was born on May 23/08 at 10:48 pm at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She weighed in at 9 lbs 10 ounces! She was 13 days late, so all those hours on the ship's internet service checking on her status was all for naught. She was obviously waiting for Nana and Grandpa to return to make her entrance.

Thanks to all those who helped us wait it out!

Cheers, Betty & Randy

I agree, grandchildren are wonderful! Mine - a little boy, now 17 months - is my CC avatar. What a joy! One of the best parts - the one I hadn't really expected or thought about - is the pleasure of seeing one's own child(ren) turn into loving, responsible parents. Sweet!
