We will be cruising on the Ms Noordam with a balcony room (VF class). It will be us (myself & my husband) & our 3 yr old twin girls.

Wondered if the couch in the room pulls out to a bed? Otherwise, you can separate the big bed into 2 smaller beds right? Are they 2 regular double sized beds?

I am wondering if the double would be big enough for me & my DH in one & then we could put the girls in the other.

Trying to figure out how to avoid all of us sleeping in the same bed!

I presume you booked a quad cabin? At least I hope you did, for that's the only way to sleep four people in a cabin.

The primary bed is a queen size that can be split into two singles. You need beds now for two more people. Sometimes there's a bed that drops down out of the ceiling; it's a single over the main bed. Then the couch becomes a single bed as well. Sometimes there's no bed from the ceiling, but the couch becomes a double bed.

Without knowing the configuration of your cabin I can't tell which you might have.

You do not, however, have two double beds as you would see in a hotel room.

If you split the big bed, it becomes twins - definitely not large enough for two people in one. If you are in a quad or triple the sofa will open to a full bed, and in a quad there will be a bunk that drops down from the ceiling. (The steward takes care of putting it down every night and back up every morning.)

Tip: if you're in the quad, have the steward make up the bed so that your feet are under the bunk instead of your heads. Lots fewer bumped heads that way!

Edit: You beat me again, RuthC!! :D I've just gotta learn to type faster! :D

Thanks, didn't even realize there were different sized rooms that are still VF. Just checked & we are in a quad which is fantastic. The couch being full size will work great for the girls, then we have the bed to ourselves without little feet kicking us all night! :D

Thanks for the fast responses. ;)

The triples and quads are the same size rooms as the doubles ... just equipped differently. Depending on your girls' ages, one of them may want to sleep in the pull-down bunk. :D

It doesn't in the insides. I was in a quad inside on the Noordam. The couch is curved, and the section that opens up is a twin.

I can't see the need for that upper berth if the couch becomes a double bed. It's got to be one or the other---upper berth with the couch a twin, or no upper berth with the couch a double.

I don't think the sofa opens to a Full bed - I'm fairly certain it's a twin sleeper.

If the OP booked 4 in a stateroom, they certainly will have a bunk that pulls down from the ceiling.
